Welcome to the City of Fort Lauderdale Office of Recycling
New Opportunities to Recycle!
The City of Fort Lauderdale is introducing several new or expanded public space recycling programs that provide opportunities for you to be more environmentally responsible.
Recycling at Fort Lauderdale Beach: Bright blue recycling containers are being placed along the most heavily used sections of the City’s recreational beachfront, from the South Beach Parking Lot to the northern end of Galt Ocean Drive. Use the new containers to recycle plastic and glass bottles and cans, aluminum, steel and tin cans, and drink boxes.
Recycling at Boat Ramps and Marinas: Yachters, boaters and those who like to fish along our waterways are encouraged to advantage of the monofilament and recycling containers located at City boat ramps and marinas.
You’ve Made a Difference!
In FY2009, the City of Fort Lauderdale recycled 4,362 tons of paper and 3,624 tons of commingled material through residential curbside recycling, event recycling, the City’s Hungry Green Dumpster program and other program initiatives. Keep up the good work!
