At Play

Recycling VolunteersEven when we play, we make trash. Whenever and wherever we make trash, we can recycle -- but it can be fun!

The City of Fort Lauderdale has embraced the challenge of recycling at City events and turned drudgery into rewarding fun and adventure. Neighborhoods, led by Green Your Routine Volunteers, are remembering to include recycling when they plan local ceremonies, parties, picnics and holiday celebrations.

Starlight Musicals

Dancing under the starsR E C Y C L I N G - sweet music to the ears! Come celebrate free musical concerts in the park at the Bank of America Starlight Musicals.

While you're there, be sure to RECYCLE your plastic and glass bottles, tin cans, and paper products. Green Your Routine Volunteers will be roaming the event throughout the night to collect your recyclables. Keep your eye on the kids with rolling recycle bins and glow-in-the-dark recycling t-shirts!

Recycling GOODIES!

More VolunteersWhen attending City of Fort Lauderdale festivals and events, always look for the main RECYCLING DEPOT to get information about what and how to recycling at the event. Often, you can exchange the cans, plastic and glass bottles you use at the event for fun promotional items that carry recycling messages and are made from recycled materials, such as pencils, rulers, Frisbees, t-shirts, and hats! Kids love participating and often turn the search for cans and bottles to trade in into treasure hunts. This even helps to control event litter.

For your convenience, special event recycling carts and containers are often located around the event grounds, too!
