Learn More About Water Conservation

SFWMD Issues a Water Shortage Watch

Water Shortage WatchRainfall is our region’s primary source for replenishing our limited freshwater supply. In 2010, rainfall was minimal and below average. Water levels continue to decline and weather forecasts call for continuing extreme dry conditions. As a result, water conservation is even more important. The City of Fort Lauderdale, in partnership with the South Florida Water Management District, would like to remind you to conserve water and follow the City’s three-day-a-week year-round landscape irrigation restrictions to protect water resources. By adhering to the restrictions, you can help delay more severe water restrictions that may be needed if a water shortage occurs. For more information about the Water Shortage Watch, please visit www.sfwmd.gov/waterwatch or call 1-800-662-8876.
