Fort Lauderdale - The City of Fort Lauderdale, in partnership with the Florida Section of the American Water Works Association, is sponsoring the Drop Savers Water Conservation Art Contest to celebrate Drinking Water Week, which will take place May 6 - 12, 2012. The City is inviting Fort Lauderdale public and private school students in grades K-12 to use their own ideas, designs, and slogans to create artwork that demonstrates their knowledge and understanding about the importance of conserving water.
Students interested in participating in the contest may visit www.fortlauderdale.gov/dropsavers to download the required entry forms or to learn more about the contest guidelines and prizes. The deadline to submit entries is Monday, March 5, 2012.
Now in its 26th year, the Drop Savers contest connects the importance of water conservation to the value and appreciation of water through the imagination and creativity of our youth. The contest promotes water awareness and conservation and encourages students to “green their routines” by incorporating water saving practices into their daily lives.
