City of Fort Lauderdale Issues Precautionary Advisory Against Use of Inland Recreational Waters in Northeast Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale - The City of Fort Lauderdale, in consultation with the Broward County Health Department, is advising the public of sewage contamination in recreational waters in northeast Fort Lauderdale. Residents whose properties abut water bodies within the following boundaries should avoid swimming, fishing, jetskiing, or any water-related activities in these water bodies:
- Northern boundary: N.E. 30th Street
- Eastern boundary: West side of the Intracoastal Waterway
- Southern boundary: N.E. 22nd Street
- Western boundary: Bayview Drive
The precautionary advisory is the result of a leaking sewer line. The sewer line has been isolated and City crews are currently making repairs.
This advisory will be in effect until further notice.
