Fort Lauderdale – The City of Fort Lauderdale Parks and Recreation Department’s Teen Advisory Board will host Pasta 4 Prevention on Tuesday, September 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lauderdale Manors Park, located at 1340 Chateau Park Drive.
Pasta 4 Prevention is a free community event in accordance with Family Day – A Day to Eat Dinner with Your Children, an initiative launched in 2001 by the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse. Family Day is a national movement that informs parents that the engagement fostered during frequent family dinners is an effective tool to help keep America’s kids substance-free. This event will include a complimentary spaghetti dinner served by participants of the Fort Lauderdale Teen Advisory Board.
Representatives from the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, Fort Lauderdale Park Rangers and area homeowners will be in attendance. The event will be highlighted by a friendly game of Steve Harvey’s version of Family Feud. Grand prize winners will receive a $200 Wal-Mart gift card. In addition, the United Way of Broward County will be donating free gas and grocery gift cards to families that pre-register and participate in the event.
Pasta 4 Prevention is co-sponsored by the City of Fort Lauderdale Parks and Recreation Department, the Fort Lauderdale Teen Advisory Board, the Foundation of Love and United Way of Broward County.
