City of Fort Lauderdale's "Smart Watts Contractor Exchange" Set for August 11
Free event aims to boost business for local contractors with information on energy retrofit rebates, low-interest loan programs and "green" business models for the construction industry

Fort Lauderdale - Licensed contractors and building specialists will learn how new clean energy incentives will help improve business profits and promote sustainability at the City of Fort Lauderdale's Smart Watts Contractor Exchange set for Thursday, August 11th at War Memorial Auditorium.
The free event, scheduled for 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., will feature clean energy exhibitors and a presentation aimed at raising awareness of the City's new rebate and low interest loan program. The keynote speaker, Dr. Jennifer Languell, a Florida contractor and green building expert, will provide "how to" training for integrating retrofit incentives and sustainability efforts into business models for the construction industry.

The Smart Watts Program includes energy efficient rebates for Fort Lauderdale homeowners and small business owners who may qualify for matching funds up to $1,000. The retrofit loan program offers low-interest loans for upgrades costing $2,500 to $10,000.
The event includes a free breakfast. Complimentary parking is available. Dress is casual.
