300 Block of SW 17th Street Closed Due to Sewer Line Break

Fort Lauderdale - A broken 12-inch, cast iron sewer line is causing street erosion and creating a sinkhole at 301 SW 17th Street in Fort Lauderdale. 

The 300 block of SW 17th Street (near Broward General Hospital) is currently closed in both directions for an unknown length of time as repairs are made.

The Fort Lauderdale Public Works Department is on the scene.   

Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue closed the street at approximately 11:15 a.m. today.
