TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Portion of Galt Ocean Drive at A1A to Close April 25-27, 2011

Fort Lauderdale - From Monday, April 25, 2011 through Wednesday, April 27, 2011, temporary lane closures will impact a portion of Galt Ocean Drive just north of the intersection of A1A and south of Galt Ocean Drive's intersection with NE 36 Street.

On Monday, April 25, starting at 9:00 a.m. the north and southbound lanes of Galt Ocean Drive at A1A will be closed. The temporary lane closures are necessary to allow a private contractor to put a crane in place to perform air conditioning repair work on two Galt Ocean Drive condominiums. Once the crane is in place, southbound Galt Ocean Drive will reopen and approximately 50 feet of the northbound lane will remain closed through April 27.

Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the project.

Signs will be posted in the area to alert motorists of the closure. Traffic will be detoured around the affected area via adjacent roadways. Motorists should expect delays in and around the affected area.

The repair work is expected to be completed by the end of day Wednesday, April 27, 2011.
