TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Portion of S.W. 9th Avenue to Temporarily Close Between S.W. 15th and S.W. 16th Streets for Sewer Line Repairs

Fort Lauderdale - The City of Fort Lauderdale will temporarily close a small portion of S.W. 9th Avenue between S.W. 15th and S.W. 16th Streets for three days beginning Monday, February 21st at 9:00 a.m. The temporary road closure is necessary to allow crews to repair two sewer lines. The City expects to reopen S.W. 9th Avenue by the end of the day Wednesday, February 23.
The following detours will be in effect in the S.W. 9th Avenue area beginning Monday, February 21, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. (see detour map ):
- Northbound traffic on S.W. 9th Avenue will be detoured around the affected area by traveling east on S.W. 16 Street, north on S.W. 8th Avenue, and west on S.W. 15th Street back to S.W. 9th Avenue.
- Southbound traffic on S.W. 9th Avenue will be detoured around the affected area by traveling east on S.W. 15th Street, south on S.W. 8th Avenue, and west on S.W. 16th Street back to S.W. 9th Avenue.
- Traffic to and from Mandarin Isle will be detoured to north or southbound S.W. 9th Avenue by traveling south on S.W. 10th Avenue then east on Orange Isle to S.W. 9th Avenue.
Signs will be posted in the area to alert motorists of the detours. Motorists should expect delays in and around the affected area.
