Fort Lauderdale - The City of Fort Lauderdale, in partnership with the Florida Section of the American Water Works Association, is sponsoring the Drop Savers water conservation poster contest to celebrate Drinking Water Week, May 1-7, 2011. The City is inviting Fort Lauderdale public and private school students in grades K-12 to use their own ideas, designs, and slogans to create a poster that demonstrates their knowledge and understanding about the importance of conserving water.

Students interested in participating in the contest may visit www.fortlauderdale.gov/dropsavers for information about contest guidelines and prizes. The deadline to submit entries is Monday, March 7, 2011.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Drop Savers contest, which aims to promote water awareness and the importance of water conservation in hopes that it will encourage students to incorporate saving water into their daily routines.
