Fort Lauderdale – The City of Fort Lauderdale is proud to kick off the 19th Annual South Florida Senior Games on Wednesday, January 28, from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Beach Community Center located at 3351 N.E. 33rd Avenue.

The South Florida Senior Games is a competitive event consisting of various athletic and leisure activities hosted at participating locations in Broward County. The 2009 South Florida Senior Games will be held from January 28 through February 10.

A calendar of events and registration forms are available by visiting the City’s website at www.fortlauderdale.gov/life. Participants wishing to enter the event must be 50 years of age or older as of December 31, 2009. Sign up today to secure a spot for your favorite event!

The South Florida Seniors Games is presented by the City of Fort Lauderdale in cooperation with Broward County and the cities of Hollywood, Sunrise and Tamarac. The South Florida Senior Games is sanctioned by the Florida Sports Foundation and is a qualifier for the 2009 Florida Senior Games State Championships.
