City of Fort Lauderdale Seeking Applicants for Enterprise Zone Development Agency


Purpose: The agency shall seek ways to relax or eliminate fiscal and regulatory constraints and identify supportive actions that facilitate business investments in distressed areas. Further it shall provide the necessary means to assist local communities, their residents, and the private sector in creating the proper economic and social environment to induce investment of private resources in productive business enterprises located in severely distressed areas.

Meetings: 4th Thursday, 9:30 a.m., unless otherwise posted
Location: Fort Lauderdale City Hall, 8th Floor Conference Room
Term: 4 years

Members of the Enterprise Zone Development Agency are appointed by the Broward County Board of Commissioners, Ordinance 95-15, pursuant to Florida Statute 290.0056.  Municipalities who are within the boundary of the enterprise zone shall have representation by making nominations to the Board of Commissioners.  The City of Fort Lauderdale has five members. 

A City of Fort Lauderdale vacancy currently exists.  Membership guidelines encourage the appointment be made from an individual associated with a business within the City of Fort Lauderdale.
