Report Aircraft Noise
The City of Fort Lauderdale owns and operates the Executive Airport. However, the City does not control or direct aircraft, but submits recommendations on noise abatement measures to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for their final decision.
The City receives input from the community on noisy aircraft events. It’s extremely important to the City to receive aircraft noise reports in a timely manner in order for staff to effectively follow up with aircraft operators to help reduce aircraft noise.
The City provides an Online Reporting Form and a 24-Hour Noise Abatement Hotline telephone number for residents to report excessive loud aircraft noise.

Aircraft Noise Reporting Hotline - 954-828-6666
The Executive Airport provides a telephone 24-hour Aircraft Noise Reporting Hotline number - 954-828-6666. The hotline is a voicemail system where residents can call and leave a message to report excessive loud aircraft noise. To have your noise event entered into the system, the caller’s location must be correctly identified to make sure that the aircraft is properly identified. For this reason, it is necessary to leave your first and last name, your address, and telephone in case we need to call you in the event that your message does not clearly record your name and address. We also need you to clearly state the date, time, and brief description of the noise event, for example: “January 1st at 10:05 a.m., loud jet.” The description will help us identify the appropriate flight track to match to your noise report. We will research each noise report that is made.
If you would like staff to return your, please state during your telephone message that you would like a “CALLBACK." For example, say, “I would like a callback." The voicemail system is checked at the beginning of each business day. Staff will make every effort to answer your call during weekdays between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Since noise and radar data for each day’s activity are downloaded during the following night, it may take staff a day to two to be able to research the flight tracks and return your call. |
