Sistrunk Boulevard Infrastructure Project

The following traffic restrictions are in place on Sistrunk Boulevard (NE / NW 6 Street) as part of the Sistrunk Boulevard Infrastructure project:

NW 6 Street is reduced to one travel lane in each direction between Andrews Avenue and NW 19 Avenue.
NE 6 Street is closed between Andrews Avenue and Federal Highway. Motorists are being detoured around the closure via NE 7th Street (north) and NE 5th Street (south).

Businesses in the affected areas REMAIN OPEN. Motorists are reminded to travel slowly in the work zone to ensure the safety of workers, pedestrians and other motorists. Traffic pattern changes on Sistrunk Boulevard are expected to continue through summer 2012. Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this phase of construction.

Sistrunk Boulevard Infrastructure Project Overview

What the Project Is

A major capital improvement project to upgrade infrastructure and beautify Sistrunk Boulevard.
The project area encompasses Sistrunk Boulevard from Federal Highway to NW 24th Avenue.
The project is estimated to take 14 to 16 months to complete.
Expect intermittent lane closures and traffic delays during construction.

What the Project Does

Reducing portions of Sistrunk Boulevard from four lanes to three lanes.
Placing overhead utilities under ground.
More on-street parking.
Wider sidewalks.
Decorative streetlights.
Median and landscape enhancements.
New bus shelters.
